Welcome to my contribution to the Crafty Secrets Design Team Fairy Challenge! There is something wonderful and magical about vintage fairies, and I know you are going to be so inspired today.
I made a canvas using stamps from Born to Fly and my adorable paper was printed from our Crafting With Vintage Patterns CD. If you haven't gotten your copy yet, you need to run, not walk, to get it! I can't tell you how great it is to be able to print on demand papers that are perfect for your project - and to be able to scale them to whatever size you are working with. I found that if I printed my background at 8 x 8, it was the perfect scale for my fairy stamp. I printed a second piece of background, and fussy cut the flowers for the side. I was able to use dimensional foam to make these pop off of the background. I also stamped two images of my fairy girl, so I could layer parts of her.
I adhered my background to the canvas using Mod Podge. I distressed it a bit with some Glimmer Mist, and a coating of stickles. A little Flower Soft for the grass, and for pollen on my lilies, added just a bit more dimension. The wooden gate is from Kaisercraft, and was just what I needed to really set this scene off.
So how about some blog candy? I have got a new large set of Born to Fly and a Creating With Vintage Patterns CD to give away! So you will have everything that you need to make a canvas like mine - or anything magical that you can think of! If you would like to be entered to win these goodies, please leave a comment on this post, and make sure you are a follower of my blog. I will leave comments open until August 31st, and will pick a winner on September 1st. Good luck!
I know you are going to want to see what the rest of the design team came up with, so here's a list of everyone, so you can check it out! Keep your notepad handy, cause I'm sure you are going to want to start your shopping list! So when you finish, you can head to the Crafty Secrets website and get some Crafty Secrets goodies delivered to you! And to make sure you don't miss anything, why not subscribe to the Heartwarming Vintage Blog? There's always lots of inspiration, announcements and giveaways.
