Today, I have a fun home decor piece to share with you! This was a plain birdhouse from Dusty Attic, before I gave it a home makeover.
I painted the base and used DA crackle varnish over the top to give a nice, distressed finish. I added some chipboard bricks and gingerbread details that were colored with embossing powders and paint to look like cooper with an old patina.
I used a scrap of Dusty Attic chipboard (from the center of a circle frame) - and painted it with gesso and then stamped by bird on it. I colored it and cut it out and let it find it's new home.
Supplies:
Dusty Attic Chipboard, Birdhouse, Clear Crackle Varnish
Crafter's Companion Stamp - Free As a Bird
May Arts Ribbon: 5" Tulle

I love your pretty birdhouse makeover. The little bricks and the 'coppery' filigree are lovely details.
Thank you so much for sharing the details of this cute little bird's new home. :)
How cute, and wonderful to have in any room of the house!
