May Arts Ribbon and CardMaker Blog Hop

I love old-fashioned looking Valentine's Cards, so I kept with a soft, aged look for my card. I cut the heart in the card front and filled in the space with lovely lace. The pink silk bow finished it off perfect!

CardMaker and Heartfelt Creations Blog Hop

Heartfelt Creations Alumni DT Hop for October

The Ribbon Resource Halloween Blog Hop

I made a pumpkin that will last for years of decorating. I just bought a craft store pumpkin and added strips of ribbon. Since the pumpkin was made of foam, I used my stapler to attach the ribbons - so it was no mess and very quick. Adding a multi-ribbon bow really made it super cute.

So, I hope you enjoyed my easy project, and go have fun on the rest of the hop!

I just had to create a scene with my Brentwood Owl stamp and decided that an easel card would be a fun way to show him off. The embossed graveyard was a perfect backdrop for his "spooky" Frankenstein costume.

CardMaker and Paper Smooches Blog Hop

Technique Junkies August New Release Blog Hop

Ribbon Scraps Blog Hop with May Arts

Are you a hoarder of ribbon? Even the tiny scraps? Then today's blog hop is for you! The May Arts Ribbonistas are showing you ways to make those little bits and pieces still pack a punch. Be sure to check out all of the inspiration, and leave comments....The Ribbon Lady will be giving away three grab bags of new release ribbons!

For my card, I used a couple of easy tips to stretch those ribbons. First, the AKB14 checkered "bow" isn't really a bow at all. I wrapped the ribbon to the back of the card paned and attached it only on the backside (leaving the length on the front loose). Then I had a very small piece of the ribbon that I just tied once around the ribbon, and it gives the appearance of a bow, with much less ribbon required. The other trick that I used was with the 426-58-46 Grosgrain Stitch Print Scalloped Edge Ribbon (It's peaking out from behind the red panel) - was to cut the ribbon in half, and use part of it along the top of the panel and one along the bottom of the panel). To wrap everything up, I added small bows using the burlap string SM28.

I'm starting off the hop today with this fun Zebra card. I just thought the image was a perfect match with the Black Twill Chevron ribbon, and I used two different sizes to fit my card just right. I embossed the image and then colored in the white stripes using a Wink of Stella Clear pen, just to give it a little sparkle.
