Please Vote! Heartfelt Creations Design Team Semi-Finalist!

I've got wonderful news to share! I am a semi-finalist for the Heartfelt Creations Design Team :)
I've been privileged enough to serve on their team before, but you know, I can just never get enough Heartfelt Creations. You can see more  of my Heartfelt Creations projects by clicking here.

The HC Design Team is a two part process. I've made it through the first step, and now I will be making two projects using products that they send me.  There is also a voting process, so I would ask that you go check out the other semi-finalists and vote.  If I inspire you, I hope you will include me (Gini Cagle) in your vote.

Thanks for looking and thank you for your help!

You're My Everything

I will admit it - I'm not always very good at waiting....So, when I saw that the Sunrise Lily Collection from Heartfelt Creations was already available on Create and Craft, I ordered it right then.  If you look at this collection, you will understand why! (And if you order from Create and Craft there is an exclusive stamp and die set - and who doesn't love exclusives?!!)

Quality - The Word for 2016

Happy 2016! I am not one for making New Year's resolutions, but I do like the challenge of picking an inspiring word for the year and working towards goals associated with it.  For this year, I chose the word quality.  I want to strive for quality in all that I do...the time I spend with my family, the foods that I eat, the art that I make.  If something is worth doing it is worth doing right! I created this tag as a reminder throughout the year, not just for the first few days of January. While I was working on this, it gave me time to reflect on what I can do to make 2016 a great year.

If you want to see just how I made this, then head over to the ColourArte Blog for the full tutorial.

Love with Crafter's Companion

I've got a card to share with you that is another way to use the Crafter's Companion Create-a-Card dies.  I die cut the front of the card base, and sprayed the inside with Radiant Rain from ColourArte.  The sentiment was stamped on the inside of the card.

Dream

This month, I have played with the Crafter's Companion Create-A-Card dies to show you just how versatile these dies can be.  Check back throughout the month to see other creative ways I've used this one die.  For this card, I used the cut as a stencil to spray my mist, then glued down an additional cut over it.  I added a center strip of ribbons and black cardstock, and finally used the motif from the center of the die to add a sentiment.

ColourArte Mixed Media Dragonfly Card

Nov

Hi, it's Gini back to share with you easy ways to incorporate ColourArte products into your everyday creations. Working on cards or other small scale projects is a great way to experiment with mixed media.

Supplies
  1. Cut a piece of chipboard for the card front. Paint with gesso. Mist with Radiant Rain. Novstep1
  2. Die cut and emboss the dragonfly from cardboard. Paint the raised areas with the silks, then mist with Radiant Rain to finish the coloring.Novstep2
  3. Stamp the rain droplets on the background. Mix a small amount of Primary Elements with Crystal Lacquer. Use a toothpick or the end of a paintbrush to drip the droplets of lacquer over the stamps to form a dimensional rain drop. Novstep3
  4. Assemble the card adding flowers, string and die cut sentiment.
  5. Glue prills around the flower cluster, but while the glue is still wet, tap a little primary elements over the prills to add shimmer.
  6. Mix Golden Bamboo Primary Elements with water and use a spatter brush to flick onto the card.Novstep4
These were all easy ways to use different products from the ColourArte family. I really love that colors are true from one product to the next, so you can use tons of techniques, while still having the colors blend seamlessly. Until next time! NovDetail3
