Begin with a 12 x 12 base of patterned paper. Cut photos and mats with the dies from the Cut, mat, Create Collection - I used dies from all four of the sets. For the photo mat in the upper right corner, I used a Spellbinders Oval die to cut the center of the mat, and adhered the photo behind the opening. Cut embellishments from the die sets to decorate the photo mats. Die cut the printed tag, and use alpha stickers for a title. Embellish with ribbon and a die cut from colored vellum. Adhere lace down the page before adding the photo mats. Stamp the floral border with watermark ink and heat emboss. Finish as shown.

Life Itself is a Wonderful Adventure
Hampton Art has added a new product - stamps sets with a coordinating stencil/mask. The really cool thing is that the stencil has a reusable sticky backing - so no matter what fun mixed media techniques you are using, your stencil is not going to shift.
1. Stamp the Weathered Background with Black StazOn ink on white cardstock.
2. Lay the stencil over the stamped area and mist with color. Allow to dry.
3. With the stencil still in place, ink some areas with the watermark ink, and sprinkle with embossing powders. Heat set.
4. Spritz with the Opal Sea Oats mist.
5. Ink the edges with Gingerbread ink - bring some of the color onto the main design area as shown.
6. Die cut the Spellbinders Branching Out with the gold foil paper. Mount on a mat of Aqua Denim (4.75" x 6.75"). Place on a 5 x 7" card base (Spring Green).
7. Stamp the sentiment with gold ink, and die cut with Lables 27. Attach to the card, offset, using foam adhesives.
8. Tie a bow with the metallic gold crochet ribbon and glue to the right of the label.
9. Stamp the feathers with the gold ink, sprinkle with the Starlight Gold Green embossing powder, heat set and fussy cut.
10. Stamp the bird, fussy cut and arrange this along with the feathers and flowers and leaves on the card as shown.

Xyron and Quick Quotes Blog Hop Week
This week, Xyron's DT is playing along with the team from Quick Quotes! How fun. I decided to create a folding screen/ home decor piece. I'm going to show you how to make this, using some heavy cardboard for the base. The Baggage Claim collection was just perfect for this. I may go back and add some travel photos later - but I think it would be cute to clip them on and change them out as desired.
1. Cut two pieces of chipboard 12" x 6.5". Cut a piece of chipboard 4" x 6.5" to use as a template for scoring. The chipboard is too thick to use a scoring board in the traditional manner, but I used the 4" wide template, and drew a pencil line every 4" on both pieces of board. Then I was able to score these lines.
2. Overlap the end panels of the cardboard strips, and adhere them together using the Xyron Mega Runner. This will give you 5 panels (the center one will be double thickness).
3. Fold the score lines back and forth, so that the screen will stay in position.
4. Ink the edges of the screen with the QQ Powder Puff Ink (Blue Lagoon).
5. Cut the paper panels from the patterned paper and ink the edges. Run through the Xyron 5" Creative Station. Adhere to the panels.
6. Make faux washi tape by cutting a border from the paper, and running it through the Xyron 1.5" Create-a-Sticker. When you tear away the adhesive strip from the machine, it will create the perfect "tape tears" on the paper as well.
7. Decorate each panel as desired - with the faux washi tape, stickers and stamped images.

Zva Creative April DT Blog Hop!
Hello friends! Zva Creative and our talented Design Team
welcome you to our April blog hop! We
are very excited to kick off another blog hop and to have you join us today. We
hope you are inspired all of the beautiful work that we are about to share!
The hop begins at Zva Creative’s blog! Be sure head on over to
check it out! You will also find a complete list of all
the participating blogs there (in case there is a glitch along the way).
As you know, Zva offers many beautiful color groupings
for pearls, flowers and crystals. If you like what you see along the hop
you can find a list of stores and online retailers that sell Zva HERE.
I wanted to create a mixed media/shabby card today, to show off this gorgeous pink flourish Here's how I created this.
1. Begin with a 3.5" x 8" card base ( WorldWin ColorMates Beach)
2. Cut the next panel 3.25" x 7.75" ( WorldWin ColorMates White). Distress the edges by first using a distressing tool and then dipping the edges in a diluted mist spray.
3. Cut a piece of WorldWin Translucent Vellum and a piece of the Beach cardstock 3" x 7.5". Tape a Dreamweaver brass stencil over the vellum and apply modeling paste and allow to dry.
4. Mount the vellum to the Bear cardstock by running the cardstock through the Xyron 5" Creative Station and applying the vellum to it (this is a great method to avoid seeing any adhesive on the vellum.
5. Adhere crochet ribbon around the center of the panel.
6. Lightly mist the entire card with a 2-toned pink mist.
7. Apply the large Zva Creative Flourish ( CRB-06CA-106) to the card.
8. Die cut multiple layers of the Tattered Blossoms (Heartfelt Creations) using WorldWin's Petallics ( Coral Pink). Shape the flower and attach to the card. Add punched leaves to finish.
If you would like to play along with our design team,
just follow along the blog path. I am linking to one of the Zva designers
and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired
along the way!

CardMaker, Teresa Collins and Xyron Blog Hop!
Welcome to another fun day of the CardMaker, Teresa Collins and Xyron Blog Hop! I've enjoyed seeing what the team members have been creating and hope you have as well. I have adapted a tutorial for a Building Block Card and changed the dimensions to accommodate the size of the Teresa Collins stenciled letters. My version makes a tall and skinny card.
1. Cut a piece of cardstock 8 1/4" x 12". With the long side against the top of the scoring board, score at 4" (mountain fold) and 8" (valley fold).
2. Pull the valley fold up like a mountain fold, and cut 1 3/4" in at the following intervals:
1/4"
2"
2 1/4"
4"
4 1/4"
6"
6 1/4"
8"
8 1/4"
3. Add a score line to the ends of each of the wide blocks ( at the 6 1/4" and 9 1/2") and fold as shown. Ink the edges of all of the folds.
4. Use a spatula to spread the Teresa Collins Basically Essential Modeling Paste over the letters from the Basically Essential Stencil to spell your sentiment. Do this over a heavy or textured paper (DCWV Burlap Paper Stack was used). Allow to dry and cut out the letters.
5. Decorate the panels with patterned paper. Use the Xyron 5" Creative Station to apply adhesive to the panels.
Hint: If you accidentally get adhesive in the wrong place, use the Xyron Adhesive Eraser Cube to remove the boo boo. (This is also found in the Teresa Collins/Xyron Adhesive Kit)
6. Cut letters from the patterned paper, ink the edges and apply adhesive using the Xyron Mini Sticker Maker.
7. Add ribbon to the card using the Xyron 1/4" Double Sided High Tack Tape.
8. Die cut flowers - cut two of the largest flowers from WorldWin's Spring Water paper. Cut the next two sizes using the WorldWin Translucent Vellum White Plaid. Ink the edges and shape. Add a Zva Creative Mini rose to the center of the flower. Assemble using the Xyron/Teresa Collins Clear Hold Adhesive.
9. Cut panels for the back of the card (for a place to write your message) using WorldWin Beargrass Petallics Cardstock. Ink the edges and adhere using the Xryon 5" Creative Station.
10. Finish assembling the card as shown.
