Creative Paperclay Butterfly Tile

Using Creative Paperclay with rubber stamps lets you create very cool embellishments for your paper projects.  I used a stamp from Hampton Arts to stamp into a slab of Creative Paperclay to make this tile.  After it was dry, I covered the entire piece with black Distress Stain, to get into the details.  In the recessed butterfly area, I used Wow Embossing Powder in Bay Area Blue (which is a transparent powder).  This gave kind of an enameled look.  Finally, I rubbed Viva Gold Decor over the raised areas.

Happy Day Mini Album

I just finished working on this mini-album, and just couldn't wait to share it with you! Can you tell I'm ready for spring? LOL!  I just got some new Wow Embossing Powders, and they were perfect for this project. I used the Suzy West Bubble Gum and Opaque Pastel Pink Regular.  The two colors coordinated great together. I embossed the butterfly in the Bubble Gum, and then painted over the desing with Creative Inspirations paints.  Then, I just took a damp paper towel and wiped away the paint from the embossed areas. I hope this inspires you to have a happy day!

Baby Boy Card

I've got another Center Step card to share with you today.  I adjusted the size a little bit, so that my side panels would be large enough to accomodate the sweet little babies from my G45 paper.   The baby carriage was stamped onto the patterned paper with Memento Ink, and then stamped and embossed in white, with the carriage cut out and popped up to add dimension. I stamped a flower and then added layers of die-cut flowers that I had shaped using the McGill tools.  By the way - the new Spellbinders are now in at Scrap-mart along with so many other wonderful goodies - so be sure to check it out!

Scor-Pal and American Crafts Blog Hop

The Scor-pal DT has teamed up with American Crafts to bring you a blog hop that is sure to inspire! You will want to start at the Scor-Pal Blog to see the full list of designers as well as the prizes that are being offered. When I saw all of the adorable accessories that went with the Garden Cafe line, I knew that these little paper strawberries would be a fun way to welcome spring! I

The strawberry template came from the Whiff of Joy blog.  I just used the template, and scored all of the folds with my Scor-pal.  I used a Crop-o-dile to punch the holes at the top of each "petal" and then Scor-tape held the tab firmly in place. The Twinery's Baker's twine  was used to lace the top together.  The strawberry top was made using  a Punch Bunch Cherry Blossom punch instead of the template provided.. The strings were drawn together and pulled through the leafy top, and tied in a bow.

The box that holds the strawberries was made using the Christmas Treats Basket Tutorial from Scor-pal. It is such a quick but cute basket to put together, and was a great canvas to add some of the AC dimensional stickers.

We hope you will enjoy this hop!

Inspiration from Scrap-Mart

I love when spring awakens and chases winter away. I think that is why I am so fond of any stamps with birds and nests. Today's card uses a wonderful stamp from La Blanche. Have you seen all of these wonderful stamps at Scrap-Mart? If you've never tried these stamps, you are going to fall in love. They are a foam mounted silicone stamp, that gives you great detail. After I stamped the image, I colored it with water color pencils and used the new Tim Holtz detail water brush. I've had a water brush for years, but his new shapes are a great addition to my studio. I inked the background using Distress Inks, and then misted it with Lindy's Stamp Gang Ink Sprays in Buccaneer Bay Blue (which is my favorite color!). I then painted a coat of crackle medium over it, and let it dry completely. I added just a little bit of the Distress Stains in Broken China. All of these fun steps lead to a stamp with tons of depth. I added die-cuts to frame the oval from Spellbinder's Damask Motifs and Damask Accents. The patterned papers are Graphic 45's Curtain Call.

I hope you will check out some of these fun new products that are arriving daily at Scrap-Mart.
