 Directions:
Run a 4 3/4" x 6 3/4" piece of cream cardstock through die cutting machine in the Bricks and Bark  embossing folder.  Use a sponge dauber to ink over the tops of the bricks, in various shades of brick red.  This will leave the cream to look like the mortar. Stamp vines and flowers along the right side of the brick wall. Color the leaves and flowers with Copics. Line the vine branches with glitter glue. Stamp the window image, onto patterned paper and heat emboss with dark brown powder. Cut with the coordinating die. Add metal accents to the hardware with gold ink.  Glue to brick background.  Stamp the water pump, color with Copics and fussy cut.  Use foam adhesives to mount to card. Stamp and cut Posy Patch flowers. Shape and add to the water pump and flowering vine.  Add Liquid Pearls to the flower centers. Mount to a 5 x 7" card base.

 We had snow flurries this weekend, but that doesn't mean that spring isn't right around the corner! And even if the flowers aren't blooming yet, we can still create our own paper blossoms .

Heartfelt Creations Inspiration

 

Today I have another card to share with you that highlights the Sunny Day Collection from Heartfelt Creations.  While this card looks straight forward, you will find a nice surprise when you untie the ribbon bow.

 

The front is just a small die cut corner, and opens to reveal a full decorated panel.

Directions:
Cut a 6 x6 card base, and score the center.  Lay the Butterfly corner on the front left corner and trace around the outside.  Fussy cut around this leaving only the bottom left corner of cardstock. Cut a       5 3/4" square of patterned paper. Randomly stamp flower stems from the Antique Essentials set across the bottom of the panel using brown archival ink.  Color the flowers with glittery paints.  Stamp the sentiment as shown, and attach to the card base.  Cut the die using patterned paper, and glue to the front. Lay Scor-tape starting on the inside of the card, just to the right of the front panel, wrap around the back, and bring around to the front of the card, stopping at the right margin of the front flap.  Add ribbon to the Scor-tape, leaving tails at the intersection of the front flap and the inside panel. Tie in a bow to close the card.  Stamp the butterfly with the Brown Archival ink and color with Copics.  Fussy cut the image and add to the front flap.  Add Stickles over the butterfly and glue to the card with dimensional foam. Stamp and cut with the corresponding die, the Post Patch Flowers and nestle around the butterfly.  Add Dew Drops for the the centers of the flowers.  Tuck a small chipboard flourish behind the butterfly.

Cut a piece of cardstock 6" x 12". Score at 3" and 6".  Fold as shown.

Cut patterned paper to add to the card base.

 (2)  2 7/8" x 5 3/4"

(2) 5 3/4" x 5 3/4" : Set one of these to the side. 

Ink the edges of the paper. Use Scor-tape to adhere the panels to the base, but on the first panel, do not put the tape along the edge that will have the cut.

 Take the angel wing die (this is an outline die, that matches a fancy doily die, but has one edge that is not a cutting edge).  Tape the angel wing along the scored/folded line. **If I want to hold something temporarily in place with tape, onto pretty patterned paper, I stick the tape to my skin a couple of times, before adhering to the paper, to make it less sticky and to decrease the chance of messing up my patterned paper.

 

This is what your card will look like after you run it through your die cutting machine.

When I added my doily on top of this, I wanted to have a consistent cream background underneath, so I cut a full circle with the angel wing (make the first cut, line the up so that it completes the circle, tape in place and cut).  Then I matched this up with the half circle, glued in place, then added the doily on top. This will be the inside portion of the card.

Take the second piece of designer paper  5 3/4" x 5 3/4" and lay it on top of the front, to see where the doily fits.  Tape your angel wing to the patterned paper, and using the two step method, cut a full circle from this piece of paper.  Then line it up on the front and attach.

Add your second doily to the front. Embellish as you please.

I love how this card looks like it's flipping around when you open it and hope that you will give it a try.

Vintage Photo Distress Ink

Cut patterned paper 5 3/4" x 5 3/4".  Distress the edges with ink, and then with a distressing tool.  Create a couple of tears along the edges, and glue snippets of the Decorative Butterfly Corner die cuts, behind the tears. Stamp the Botanical Window directly on the center of the card.  Die cut a frame for the window using the Decorative Chateau Gate, cut away the door areas and glue that to the card base.  Stamp the Botanical Window again, this time onto Cryogen White paper.  Color the window frame and flowers using Copics and fussy cut. Stamp 3 lilies that match the sizes of the base image, and cut with the coresponding die.  Color these and add to the image using foam adhesives.  Cut three small leafy vines and arrange with your flower cluster. Add pearls to the centers of the flowers and finish with a bow. 



Enjoy the Little Things

When I saw the Marigold Collection, by Kaisercraft, I knew it was time to try creating a paper marigold to go along with these papers.

 

 

I also had a chance to play with some of the mixed media techniques my friend Vivian Keh (Contadina K) shares on her YouTube videos.  For this, I started with a base of masking tape, and then used gesso, mists, Viva Decor Inka Gold and Viva Decor Glitter Liners to create an interesting backdrop for my clusters.

Welcome to the Hampton Art Core'Dinations Hop! It looks like Blogger left out my pictures this morning, so I'm really sorry if you dropped by earlier and missed my project.

I used one of my favorite Hampton Art stamp sets for this card - Best of Times.  I stamped the flourishes on the blue paper, and colored it in with the Smooch Illuminate. The vines were heat embossed, using the same set, as well as the sentiment.

I love how fun it was to distress the Core'Dinations papers! They created the greatest texxtures for this card.

Cut a 5 3/4" square of patterned paper, positioning the doily print at the top.  Mount onto a 6 x 6 card base.  Die cut the decorative border in glue in the lower left corner.  Cut the sentiment from the paper pack, and use dimensional adhesive to position in the center of the card.  Stamp the behive and color with copics.  Fussy cut the image and glue onto the lower right corner of the sentiment.  Fussy cut a butterfly from the paper, shape, and glue to the upper left corner of the sentiment.  Stamp and cut two leaf branches and color with Copics.  Make 3 sets of flowers using the Tattered Blossoms stamp and die.  Each flower should have 4 layers.  Color using gelatos and add a Dew Drop to the center.  Arrange your flower cluster as shown.
