Ride 'Em Cowgirl

The theme at Delightful Sketches is Kids - so, I love this little cowgirl riding her toy rocking horse, from Karen's Doodles. My little sister had one of these whose fur was made out of multi-shaded blue shag carpet (I'm sure I'm not dating myself here!) I can still see her riding it for hours! I used the sketch from Alota stamps for the card. This is also for the challenge at Incy Wincy - to use a horse on your card.

It's My Day for the Beary Scrap DT!

Are you all ready for St. Patty's Day after seeing the great inspiration from the Beary Scrappy Gals this week? Well, I've got my card to share with you today. I didn't really have any St. Patrick's day stamps or paper, so this just goes to show you what you can do with everyday products. I really LOVE the Kraftin' Kimmie stamps! This little cutie is Lillith. I colored her with copics, and used some DP from Basic Grey's Sugar Rush line to paper piece her dress. I used papers from My Little Shoebox (Imagine a Forest - Happy Trees, Get the Camera), and then Bazill for the base CS. The crown is a glimmer chip from Tattered Angels and was colored with Glimmer Mist spray. I printed my sentiment on the computer and then cut it out using Spellbinders Ribbon Tag Trio II.

On the inside of the card, I printed another sentiment, and used my cuttlebug embossing borders to add the flowers. I have really gotten to the point that I love stitching on my cards, so I added a few rows of machine stitching in metallic gold thread to help pop the message. The little frog is the accessory stamp that comes with Lillith.

I wish all of you the Luck of the Irish this week, and be sure to check back tomorrow to see the exciting things we will have for you next week! Remember, you can get all of these goodies and so many more from the Beary Scrap!

This card is also for these challenges:
The Crafting Pot - St. Patrick's
The Pixie Cottage - green
Fussy and Fancy - green
Stamp Something - cream and green
Copic Creations - coloring green

Something Old with Kraftin Kimmie

The challenge at Kraftin Kimmie was to use something old - so I used this paper that I've had for quite a while in my stash - and the ribbon I've had for at least 2 years. I just love this sweet little stamp!

Headed Down the Rabbit Hole

I have been really busy this week, having fun, keeping my 4 year old nephew while my sister has been cruising - so I haven't gotten to post that much. But you know it is time for sneak peaks for the new release from SSD that is coming up on the 15th - Headed Down the Rabbit Hole. So here is cute little Alice. I used the sketch from Friday Sketchers. I also made this card for the new challenge blog, Oh Alice. The theme this week was painting the roses red - which also included a picture for inspiration. I made my rose using spellbinders and mulberry paper, sprayed with Glimmer mist (all available from the Beary Scrap).

This card is also for the challenge at Die Cuts R Us - to make a paper flower

Be sure to check back for more sneak peeks!

Karen's Doodles Challenges Are Here!!!!

This is the day that you have been waiting for! The launch of Karen's Doodles Challenge Blog - United States. There will be four different challenge blogs, each debuting on different days of the week. (The United Kingdom , The Netherlands, Scandinavian, and the USA!) And oh my! Wait til you see what the prizes are!

Here is our 1st challenge for you. This awesome sketch.

For my card, I used the image, A Present for Mom. It is just so cute and springy! I didn't necessarily want to use a flower for my embellie, so I decided to make a felt carrot out of wool roving. I love how the Martha Stewart branch punch was just perfect for the carrot tops. If anyone is interested in how I made the little carrot, just let me know, and I'd be happy to post it.

Now, I mentioned something about prizes, didn't I? Well check this out!

For this first challenge, we have something really special! (Winners will be chosen using Random.org)
  • Winner- 1 digi stamp that they design and get to name and 2 digi stamp of their choice from Karen's Doodles

Hello Buttercup!

This weekend was so nice! The sun was shining and it was actually warm enough to take my little nephew outside to play this afternoon. Could spring really be getting close? Soon, we will start seeing little buttercups and violets popping up!

For this card, I used the Buttercup Flower Fairy from Crafter's Companion. I love their stamps - they are so vintage and charming. They are having a DT call right now, so I made this for my submission. This was really a fun image to color. I'd love getting to design more with their adorable stamps!

Happy Birthday!

Well, it's no ones birthday that I know, but at Creative Inspirations this week, the challenge is to make a male birthday card. So, it's always good to have a stock of cards ready, right? I think the distressed kraft paper really gave a manly look to the card. Instead of using ribbon, I took strands of linen yarn, held them together and zig-zag stitched over them to form a cord. The cake is a digi from Sassy Studio Designs- actually the Un-birthday cake! So what are you waiting for? Go make a birthday card for the favorite male in your life and link in up at Creative Inspirations - you could win a great prize package from
