Holiday Hop Days with DCWV and Hampton Art

Hello and welcome to day one of the two-day DCWV/Hampton Art Holiday Hop!

DCWV and Hampton Art are two companies that go above and beyond to provide a wide selection of products from classic, to vintage, to trendy and modern. So, when we decided to team up it was only natural that we would want to show you some variety.

Day #1 of our hop is all about vintage! Whether you are talking lace and pearls and soft weathered colors or distressed, grungy, and aged, if you love all things vintage we have some beautiful projects to show you today!

Of course, there are prizes! So be sure to leave comments on all of the blogs for your chance to win.  For today's prize, Hampton Art is offering this great package!

I've been making Christmas cards for months now, so decided it would be fun to try something a little different....so I ended up going a little bit steampunk on my creation.

I colored my ballerina with Copics, and then fussy cut. I added some glittery details to her costume using Smooch Glitz.  The flowers were made with Rose Creations from the Heirloom Christmas paper stack, and had a little bit of the Smooch Glitz added to them as well.  Nestled among the flowers and sprockets, are peppermint candies, stamped from this set as well. I edeged the card with some crocheted ribbon, and sprinkled Fairy Dust Glitter around the edges of the card (because Christmas is always sparkly in my book!)

These products worked great together - and I hope you enjoy seeing the different ways all of the designers used them!

Heartfelt Creations Inspiration

Happy Wednesday! I hope your week is going great.  I've got a Heartfelt Creations card to share with you today that really shows off the beautiful rose you can create using the Vintage Floret stamps and dies.
Cut patterned base paper at 5 3/4" x 5 3/4", ink the edges and mount to a 6 x 6 cardstock base.  Die cut the lace border from cream cardstock ink over the bottom 2/3rds of the border using the honey ink. Back the lace border with mauve paterned paper.  Adhere ribbon and add pearls to the ribbon. Cut 2 decorative pieces from the Timeless Amour die set, and use to frame the sentiment from the paper collection. Stamp the 3 smallest sizes of flowers - one bold, and one open flower for each size, using the peony ink. Die cut with the matching die. Shape using the mat and tools. Stamp and cut the foliage as shown, and assemble the card.

Sent From Heaven

I'm taking a little break today from the holiday cards, and decided to share with you a great card for a new baby.  This is a wing-fold card which is really simple to make, but is very impressive to recieve.

Cut the following pieces of paper to assemble card

Mist (blue)  cardstock:  5 ¾  x 12” - scored at 3 3/8; 5 1/8; 6 7/8; 8 5/8

Cut (2) from Lullaby  3 1/8 x5 ½

Cut (3) from Bundle of Joy 1 ½ x 5 ½

Die cut:

(2) Victorian Garden Doily Frame in Ivory

(1) Japanese Lace Oval  Angel Wing in Ivory

(1) Japanese Lace Oval in New Arrival

1.       Ink the edges of all patterned papers with Dark Cashmere ink.  Adhere the Victorian Garden Doily to each of the Lullaby mats.  Trim the excess from the doily frame.  Glue panels to the outer sides of the card base.

2.       Glue the three small Bundle of Joy  papers to the 3 center panels of the card.

3.       Glue the Japanese Lace Oval diecut to the cut shadow background.  Add pearls to each tip.

4.       Trace the oval from the Japanese Lace oval, and cut from Ivory cardstock.  Ink the edges.  Stamp the baby using Robin’s Egg.  Allow to dry completely, and stamp the sentiment, slightly overlapping the image using embossing ink.  Sprinkle with gold embossing powder and heat set.

5.       Adhere to the oval doily using dimensional adhesives and add bow.
