Heartfelt Creations Alumni DT Blog Hop June

Welcome, to the June Edition of the Heartfelt Creations Alumni Blog hop! The hop runs now through Friday night - at midnight.  And one lucky commenter, chosen from one of the stops on the blog hop, will win a $25 gift certificate to HC.  How great is that?  You get to hop around and see some wonderful projects, plus have the chance to win some goodies of your own!  The winner will be announced on Saturday, July 2nd, and will have 72 hours to claim their prize.

I'm not an expert with watercolors, but they are so fun to play with - I decided to try them using the large Fuchsia Bouquet stamp. I paired it up with some paper from the Enchanted Mum collection to pull in the purples that I used for the flowers. Easy- peasy!

Love is in the Air

June is just around the corner, which means you may have a wedding or anniversary to celebrate! If so, then check out the Sara Signature Collection - Love and Romance. It's a wonderful collection to create love filled projects.  I used gold and vellum to create a card that would be perfect for an elegant anniversary.  Changing the colorway really can set the mood for a card.

This is the brand new Under the Sea collection and it is stunning!
Not only do you have all of the sea creatures, but there is also this fabulous Water Hibiscus flower!
I made a shaker element for the front of the album (if you look you will see the shimmery sequins).
This album has ton of interactive pages, but I just thought I would share  a few with you.

Thanks for stopping by!

Prima Wall Art Contest

Yes, it's Sunday night and I am sneaking in this post for the Prima Wall Art Contest! It's an awesome contest to encourage home decor projects for a gallery wall.  Now truth be told, I don't have a ton of extra wall space in my house, because I tend to love to hang pretty things on my walls...but this was really fun, and I enjoyed making several projects that were different, but yet still connected.  So here are some close ups of each piece.
A Bloom Girls stencil was the inspiration for this panel - but when you add Prima mediums and even older printed Prima flowers, the results were really fun.  I'm not 100% I'm finished with her...I think she may need some words on the background - but for tonight, she is finished.

I played with several of Prima's new products for this piece - the base was a watercolor panel and I used the IOD Oil Pastels, paper clay and molds.  The background was created with the Color Blooms,  Finnabair Heavy Gesso and Silicone Brushes, Gold Crackle Texture Paste and the sentiment was from Christine Adolph's Adhevise Rub-ons.  I coated the rub-on with some rust powder that created a really cool aged effect.
(And if you haven't played with the Iron Orchid Designs molds - you are going to love them! I have so many ideas for them!)

This final piece just goes to show that you can create something lovely in no time flat! I used the IOD oil pastels to color the Paintables panel (and just blended it with my finger). I added one of Frank Garcia's metal embellishments, a sticker from the Salvage District collection and three tiny Prima flowers. It was seriously finished in less than 10 minutes, but I love how it turned out!

Thanks for letting me share a little home decor with you tonight!

Prima's April PPP Challenge

I love the color combination of this month's Prima Product Pick challenge. The navy blue with the pastel pink really seems so classic and refreshing. I found that the papers from the French Riviera Collection were perfect for this base. I also added in a little bit more pink from the Something Blue collection.

Downton Abbey is in the House!

That's right! It's here! The Downton Abbey Papercrafting collection is now available at Crafter's Companion US! Everything about this collection says elegance. I love treating the gold as my neutral, and just adding a small pop of purple for the color.  Also, notice the Ornate Mirror Frame - I die cut a purple and a patterned piece, and offset them slightly.  This is a great way to create a shadow effect.

New Release - Crafter's Companion - Butterfly Lullaby

It's release day at Crafter's Companion US! Yay! Today we are adding Sara Davies' Signature Collection - Butterfly Lullaby.  It's perfect for spring! Now this collection launched a couple of months ago, and it was so wildly popular that we have just now gotten part of the collection in stock!

I used the embossing folder to emboss the scalloped circle, but then fussy cut it down to just the circle, rather than using the whole design.  The flowers were fussy cut and glittered, then shaped a little bit before I adhered them with foam tape.

For My Special Friend

Here's a fun tag that you can easily add to your next hostess gift! I used the new AquaBlend pencils from Spectrum Noir. They really make shading very easy. The image is from Sheena's A Little Bit Scenic - Provence.   It was layered with die cuts from Edge'ables Only Words - For My Special Friend  and Die'sire Decorative Dies - Chantilly Lace Stamping Frame.
Remember, adding a touch of metallics to any project makes it a little more glamorous - perfect for special occasions.
