My Heart Is Full

 

Hello, hello Creative Peeps! You may have noticed I've been a bit MIA on my blog, but as you can see in my layout, I've been busy with my precious little bundle! So, I'm back and happy to share this layout with you! 

 

Since I hadn't made any flowers in awhile, I figured I need a bunch of them (plus, I'm really ready for spring).

Directions:
1. Cut patterned paper 11 x 11.  Distress and ink the edges. Adhere to 12 x 12 patterned paper, whose edges have been inked and distressed.
2.  Layer a piece of corrugate behind where the photo will go.  Spray with mist to color before it is glued down.
3.  Use texture paste and argyle stencil over Dusty Attic Chip. While the paste is still wet, sprinkle with embossing powder.  Allow to dry, then heat emboss. Spray with color mist while the embossing powder is still hot. Mist the chipboard title.
4.  Arrange chipboard, paper panels, photo  and ribbons on the layout as shown.
5.  Stamp Heartfelt Creations Wildwood Florals on white cardstock. Cut with the matching die. Use a sponge dauber to apply color to the images. Shape with the Deluxe Flower Shaping Tool.  Glue prills to the centers of the flowers and arrange on layout.

Have a Beautiful Day With Heartfelt Creations

Today, I have kind of a hybrid card to share with you...it's a gatefold card, but it opens to reveal a pocket card (perfect for tucking away a little tag.)  Of course, the focal point for this card is the profusion of Delightful Daisies.  I sat down one night and made a ton of these :)

May All Your Dreams Come True

If you have a few minutes, then you have time to make your own special gift box. Doesn't this look like the perfect princess packaging?  And then, you don't even have to wrap the present.

For the box itself, I used a tutorial that I found online, here.  I did decide that the box was a little hard to close, until I trimmed the edges away to reduce bulkiness.

 I didn't want to use a patterned paper for this box, because I wanted the sentiment to be the star of the show, so instead, I embossed pink paper, and it made the box interesting without being overwhelming.

 To really make my die cut sentiment show up, I lined it with a cream cardstock.

Is this little fox not the cutest thing? Of course I would want to be friends with him! He was colored with the Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens.  He is just my favorite!

I will admit it - I'm not always very good at waiting....So, when I saw that the Sunrise Lily Collection from Heartfelt Creations was already available on Create and Craft, I ordered it right then.  If you look at this collection, you will understand why! Happy February! It's the first Monday of the month, so that means I have a tutorial ready for you on the ColourArte blog.  I will show you how to create this delicate water colored background that is soft and romantic (perfect for February!) 

Wild About You

I'm going on an adventure...not just because I have this adorable MFT's zebra on my project, but I've decided to venture out on a card safari of sorts.  I love the cute and whimsical style cards, but I don't usually make many of them.  One of my goals this year, is to create more of these, but hopefully still adding my own little bits to them.

I added lots of texture to this card, and colored over the image with the Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens (which looks quite lovely in person).  My favorite little detail was using a piece of frayed baker's twine to mimic the Zebra tail - it makes me smile every time I see it! ( I did add just a dab of glue to the twine to keep it from unraveling more.)

Quality - The Word for 2016

Happy 2016! I am not one for making New Year's resolutions, but I do like the challenge of picking an inspiring word for the year and working towards goals associated with it.  For this year, I chose the word quality.  I want to strive for quality in all that I do...the time I spend with my family, the foods that I eat, the art that I make.  If something is worth doing it is worth doing right! I created this tag as a reminder throughout the year, not just for the first few days of January. While I was working on this, it gave me time to reflect on what I can do to make 2016 a great year.

Ringing in the New Year with Crafter's Companion

Hi! I've been busy creating lots of samples using my Crafter's Companions goodies for the upcoming CHA show, and have been a little neglectful in sharing the inspiration with you! So, tonight, on the eve of NYE, I have a card to help ring in the New Year. This Scruffy Little Cat stamp is so sparkly in person, thanks to the Sparkle Spectrum Noir pens. I layered them over the Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and it's a great match up.

Victorian Christmas Card

So Prima has had a wonderful 12 Days of Christmas Challenge going on - each challenge focuses on one of their lines.  I of course had grand plans of trying to play all 12 challenges....and it ends tonight and this is my second entry! Ha! But I've had fun seeing all of the entries and being inspired.  So, I guess that's what it's really all about.

Acetate Stamping Tricks Video

It's been awhile since I've shared a video with you, but I think you will learn a few new ideas for stamping on acetate.  I've used Joy Clair Stamps and Imagine Crafts inks, so be sure to check out those sites.

I love this Tufted Background stamp from Joy Clair! It's so cute! You may not be able to tell from my photo, but I cut the buttons out and popped them up for fun dimension. Be sure to go over the the Joy Clair site and check out all of their other wonderful stamps!

Have you seen the Spectrum Noir Sparkle Markers? They are divine! I colored my images with them. along with a few Spectrum Aqua markes- and the colors are so intense and sparkly! You really have to see these in person to appreciate the glitter-effects - but you will love them!
