Consider Yourself Vintage with Hampton Art

A few days ago, I had a birthday – so I had to laugh out loud when I saw this Hampton Art/ Jillibean Soup stamp.  I would much rather think that I’m vintage (instead of just old!)
This card was easy to make, but would be perfect to have on hand for a last minute Birthday card.
I cut the fish-tailed paper banners from coordinating patterned papers, and inked all of the edges.  The center banner was adhered with foam adhesive, to pop it up a little.  Next, the ribbon was added (over the banners).
The sentiment was stamped on patterned paper, cut out, and adhered with the foam adhesives.
Super easy and super cute!

I was so thrilled when I saw the Balmy Breeze collection from Heartfelt Creations, because I completely adore anything to do with the beach.  From the imagery in this set, to the sun-faded colors of the papers - I was completely in love!  I used one of my favorite pictures of my nephew at the beach, for this layout.

Directions:  Distress the edges of the base paper.  Stamp the birds in the upper right corner using a white pigment ink. Cut the patterned papers to form the basic sketch shown.  Ink edges of papers and layer with foam adhesives. Stamp and fussy cut images from the Balmy Breeze sets ( anchor, palm tree, lighthouse, compass).  Layer these around the photos.  Stamp the sentiment from the Antique Lantern set in the center of the printed label. Fussy cut and adhere to the lower right corner of the photo. Stamp and cut with the corresponding die Tattered Blossoms flower.  Layer the flowers and add Gala Glitz to the centers.  Nestle around  the layered elements to finish the layout.

Expanding Box Tutorial

I had seen this sliding box on Pinterest, from Wenche's blog,
but I needed to convert it to inches rather than centimeters.

Cut a piece of cardstock 9 1/2 x 11 1/4".  With the long side against the top fence of your Scor-Pal, score at 2 1/4",     4  1/2", 6 3/4" and 9".  Turn the paper so the short side is against the top fence and score at 1/2",         2  3/4", 6 3/4", and 9"

Cut as shown.

Score diagonally, as marked with the dotted lines.

Measure 1/2" from the bottom of the diagonally scored flaps, and mark a notch.  Use something oval shaped to trace a cutting line to shape the paper like this:

Cut the rounded edges.

Cut two pieces of cardstock, 2 1/4", x 2 1/2".  With the longer side against the top fence, score at 2 1/4", so you have a 2 1/4" square.  Add Scor-tape to the folded lip of the center flap, and attach these pieces to extend the flap.  (The 1/4" flap of the small piece of cardstock will be adhered to the bottom of the box to form a pocket to slide the rounded flaps into).

Add your designer papers before assembling the box, and decorate as desired.
