Belles N Whistles welcomes new DT member
Jacque from Jacque's Joie de Vivre, is making her DT debut for Belle's n Whistles. To celebrate, she is giving some wonderful candy. To find all of the details, go to the Belle's N Whistles Blog, check our her amazing card and get signed up. But hurry, this candy is through noon on 10/25!
Tilda Basket
I love how Tilda can sit on things (like ribbon) - it makes her so versatile. The challenge from IPM was to make anything other than a card, so I made this treat basket. The challenge from Cuttlebug Spot and Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential was to make a candy container - so this worked great for both! I used my cricut cartridge Tags,Bags, boxes and More to cut the basket. I embossed parts of the basket with my cuttlebug, and put it all together for a sweet treat.

Tilda meets the Great Pumpkin
I love all of the new Magnolia stamps for Halloween, but unfortunately, I don't have any of them. So, when the challenge to create a Halloween card with Magnolia stamps came up at Magnolia Down Under Challenge blog, I had to come up with some creative ideas. I cut a jack-o-lantern and witch's hat from Paper Doll Dress Up Cricut cartridge, and decided to let Tilda jump out of the pumpkin. I colored the image with my copics and highlighted it with Spica markers. I used the sketch from CPS this week for my design. Since this is a Halloween card, it also fits the challenge for One Stop Craft Challenge, EveryboOne Stop Craft Challengedy Art Challenge, Cupcake Craft Challenge, Stamp ArtIc , The Corrosive Challenge and Creative Inspirations.

Simon Says Get Well Soon!
Simon Says challenge has the perfect card for this week - Get well soon! Everyone I know has been sick. My boss was out for over a week with H1N1, my sister has bronchitis, and I hate to think what all the kids that come in my office have! I colored this with watercolors, Twinkling H2O's to be exact. I would rather color with my copics, but this was a great challenge at Flourishes Timeless Tuesday (if they didn't make me use something other than my copics, I would never put them down!). I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday, and finally, the image was inspired by the challenge at Charisma Cardz, which was daisies.
Stamptacular Sunday
Here's another Halloween card for the week. This is for the spooky challenge at Stamptacular Sunday. When I was a teenager, a bat got in my bedroom and was flying around. Believe me, there is nothing spookier than bats!
Bright and Zingy
I am not really a bright and zingy girl - as far as colors go! So, it was a bit of a challenge for me to use colors that were much brighter than I usually grab, for this week's Just Magnolia Challenge. That is one of the really great things about participating in challenges - they push you out of your comfort zone and expand your creative juices. I loved the sketch that I used on this one - it's the first challenge from the Pixie Cottage Challenge. So, if you are looking for a new challenge site, go check them out.

Anya Trick-or-Treats as the Pirate
There have been lots of Halloween challenges lately, but I was getting kind of tired of orange, green and purple, so I decided to let Anya go trick-or-treating in her stylish pink and black. I used the sketch from Shirley's Twisted Thursday - and you had to use chipboard as well. My skull and crossbones are chipboard sprayed with
Tattered Angels black gold (It is really sparkly and lovely in person). Stamp With Fun, Incy Wincy Challenge, Creative Friday and Roses on Paper challenges were all for a Halloween card (and of course I used a Greeting Farm Anya for the ROP Challenge). For Paperplay challenges you had to use your favorite embellishment. Although I have many - I have gotten hooked on making the crepe paper flowers, edged in stickles. Finally, I put the whole card together using the recipe challenge from Dutch Dare: to use 2 colors of cardstock, 2 Designer papers, 2 flowers, 2 brads, and 2 gems (the centers of the flowers are swarovski crystal -another favorite embellie!) That's a ton of challenges to fit into one card, but don't you think she deserves a treat?

My New Whiff of Joy Stamps!
Woo hoo! I got my full Autumn set of Whiff of Joy stamps today, and got to sit down and play! This was sooooo fun to color. I used the sketch from Stampin for the Weekend. I cut out my medallions with a spellbinders pendant collection, and added winter branches from my Martha Stewart punch. I am so glad that this will be my first time getting to enter the Whiff of Joy challenge, too (but, I'm sure I will become a regular there!)
Shadow Box Card
This is the first time I have tried a shadow box card, and it was really easy and fun. I used the sketch from Crafting Life's Pieces. The stamp is from The Greeting Farm, and this card has tons of bling. I added stickles to the prima flowers, and sworovski crystal centers. I sprayed the chipboard with Tattered Angels, embossed gold border stamps on the edges and added antique sequins (like confetti) on the background.

Belles N Whistles
I love the Belles n Whistles stamps! and this one is so cute! I used the sketch from Stamp with Fun. I layered the stamp image for depth, paper pieced the patches and pockets on her clothes and colored with Copics, highlighted with Copic Spica pens. I made the flower with crepe paper (I cut a length of paper streamer, folded it about 1/3 down the length, then sewed a running stitch, and gathered it to form a rosette), I sprayed it with Tattered Angels, and heated it to burn the edges slightly. I added an antique mother of pearl button to finish it off. These have become my favorite new embellishment. While you are at the Stamp with Fun sight, check out their DT call!
