Stitching Inspiration

Sew, have you enjoyed our stitching inspirations this week at the Beary Scrap DT Blog? I decided not only to stitch on my card, but to use a vintage sewing theme as well.

I am really not a good seamstress at all, but I do have great memories of my great-grandmother Memie trying to teach me to sew. She could walk in a store, sketch the dress that she saw and go home and sew it. She also kept bags and bags of lace that she would add to everything. So when I sewed the lace around the borders of this card, it made me smile thinking of her.

Last weekend, I went to CKC - Charlotte, and took two Tattered Angels classes - so this week, I have been spraying, painting and splashing Glimmer Mist on everything! I sprayed my lace with it. I painted some of the new Glimmer Glaze over my crystal brad to make it match my project. And I sprayed some Glimmer Mist over my border paper, after I stamped it. For my flower, I sprayed pages of an old phone book, and then wadded them up to dry - and then cut them using a Spellbinders die.

Are you ready to go back to School?

Summer is almost a memory. School starts back here in less than a week - so to get you geared up at Delightful Challenges, we want to see back to school projects using the primary colors.

I chose Sitting Penny for my card. I think she is all set for the first day of class. There are some really cute images available at Digital Delights, so go grab one and join in on the fun. We can't wait to see what you come up with.

Those Flowers have been Framed!

I know I shared this card on my blog earlier this week, but I thought I would tell you a little about my ribbon frame. Sometimes I get a ribbon that I think is so beautiful, I'm not sure how to use it! I loved this scalloped green trim, from Really Reasonable Ribbon the moment I saw it, but I wasn't sure what I should do with it. Then, I was working on a card and it just needed something to visually define my borders. This was the perfect place to highlight this gorgeous trim! To me, it almost makes a postage stamp type frame. I just loved the results - and the good news is - we have this trim in 6 colors - Woo Hoo! The stamps I used are from Heartfelt Creations.

Show us some fall colors

Autumn is just around the corner, and we would love to see some of those gorgeous fall colors on your Belle's N Whistles projects.

We had my dad's birthday party today, and I made this card for him. The fall colors were great for his card. I used the stamp Surprise. The papers were from Pink Paislee.

We hope that you will play with us this week at the BnW Challenge. Just be sure to use a Belles n Whistles stamp to be eligible to win a BnW stamp of your choice.

Great time at Creating Keepsakes Charlotte

I had a wonderful time this weekend at CKC and am over the moon for a company that is new to me - Heartfelt Creations. They make the most fabulous nested flower stamp sets that coordinate with the Spellbinders flower dies, and they also have their own exclusive Spellbinders sets! I was in heaven! I love all of the possibilities that I see with these - and can't wait to play more!

I made 2 cards and a Welcome sign this afternoon. You should see my studio - It looks a tornado touched down! But, I just had to get these stamps inked up. I bought a bunch of these stamps, so you can bet that you will be seeing many more of these beauties on my blog!
