Art Anthology, Basically Bare and May Arts Week!

Welcome to the second day of the Art Anthology/Basically Bare/May Arts Ribbon Project Inspiration Blog Hop. We’ve joined forces this week to offer you lots of inspiration using products from Art Anthology, Basically Bare, and May Arts Ribbon.

So, I started off with this really cute chipboard album from Basically Bare.

I opened the album up, to isolate my cover to start working and painted the surface with gesso.

I used a paintbrush dipped in Colorations to paint swirls on the surface.

And I let some of the Colorations drip and run.

After that was dry, I used a stencil, and applied modeling paste over the top.

To color the paste, I used a makeup sponge dipped in the Waimea Bay Blue Colorations, and dabbed that over the raised areas.  This allowed my base colors to show through and not get too covered.

I used the Dimensional Crystal to add some raised areas/details on my flowers.

For the inner page, I started by spritzing with the Patience Colorations, and spreading the color with an old credit card.  I intentionally left white space. Using the credit card to spread the color really brought out the texture of the corrugate page.

I spread on Evergreen Sorbet, which added a different texture and some shine.

After that was dry, I used a stencil, but this time used the Velvet paints to form beautiful, dimensional droplets of color.

This was a little too bright for my cover, so I added a layer of watered down gesso to tone down the intensity a bit.  I heat embossed a sentiment from Hampton Art, and added a drawn frame around the page using water color pencils.

I misted the Sheer/Frayed Flowers with the Patience and added them to the cover.  It was super fun to add tons of May Art Ribbons to the spine of the album as well.  The leaves were metallic gold, and I painted a thin layer of the Evergreen over them to tie the colors together.  I also painted the Evergreen over a fancy piece of chipboard, and finished everything off as shown.

Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to watch the blogs this entire week to see tons of beautiful projects!
