Enjoy the Little Things

When I saw the Marigold Collection, by Kaisercraft, I knew it was time to break out my Cheery Lynn Designs Dies, and try creating a paper marigold to go along with these papers.

This is a very showy flower, with lots of petals, so just be prepared to  spend a little time creating it.  I used all three sizes of the pear shaped petals from Build a Flower 3. You will cut 14 of each size, ink and shaped each petal.  I used the 3 sizes of daisies for my base to glue the petals (so you will have two layers of each size).  Finally, I cut two of the larger suns from the Embellishments 2, and used them for the center of the flower.

I also had a chance to play with some of the mixed media techniques my friend Vivian Keh (Contadina K) shares on her YouTube videos.  For this, I started with a base of masking tape, and then used gesso, mists, Viva Decor Inka Gold and Viva Decor Glitter Liners to create an interesting backdrop for my clusters.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Remember, there is a new challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs - Shaped cards.  This is a great challenge to use some of your larger dies, and show us what you can come up with!
