Heartfelt Creations Inspiration

Welcome back for another Heartfelt Creations Inspiration Wednesday! Today's layout is pretty technique heavy, so I have a lot of pictures for you.  I also have to tell you - out of all of the pictures I took last fall of my nephew at Disney World - this is one of my favorites!  He had on his Peter Pan hat - and the sun was perfect to "catch his shadow".  I also borrowed some of my favorite Peter Pan quotes to journal onto the page-
  •  To live would be an awfully great adventure.
  •  Second star to the right and straight on til morning.
  • The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease forever to be able to do it.)

The title letters were stenciled with Modeling Paste onto burlap paper, and then heat embossed with powder.  More journaling was added to the tag behind the photo.

Small details are all over this layout!  I doodled around the title, heat embossed the edges of the paper, machine stitched , spritzed, stamped...allright, you get the idea!

The flower was heat embossed with gold and then colored with inks.

I assembled pieces from Heartfelt Creations dies to create a clock tower - perfect for the Once Upon a Time stamp in the center.

The alarm clock was fussy cut from the patterned paper, and layered onto a matching piece of paper using foam adhesives.  The face of the clock was covered with Crystal Lacquer and sprinkled with Lindy's Stamp Gang Mica Powder (Jolly Swagman Olive Green).

There are two different star streamers here - The dark blue panel has small stars cut from HC Gift Ensemble Die and stitched to the paper.  The larger stars were cut from a retired Spellbinders, and then dry embossed and heat embossed with LSG Oakleaf Olive Embossing Powder.  Gala Glitz Glitter was glued under the Zva Creative Flourish to give a truly explosive feel.

I used the March Color Challenge for Lindy's Stamp Gang for this palette.

I used the Once Upon a Sketch for March for my sketch.

12" x 12" Layout -Water distress the edges of the backing page.  Trim the working base page to 11.5".  Distress the edges and heat emboss with a mix of Hydrangea Glue Mauve and Oakleaf Olive.  Machine stitch the edges.  Randomly stamp the Burlap background and Vintage Word Background stamps using StazOn ink - close to the focal area of the layout.  Lay the damask stencil on the page and use a palette knife to apply Modeling Paste to the design. Let dry completely and color with an olive gelato.  Assemble a "clock tower" by using die cuts from the Decorative Flower Pot and the Ornate Gateway die sets.  Stamp the clock face using the Timeless Clock PreCut set.  Add metal hands to the clock.  Add to the layout as shown. Tear two strips of navy paper from the Countryside Evening Paper collection and ink the edges and glue the strips together.  Die cut small stars from the Gift Ensemble die set and stitch down the center of these strips. Layer ribbon and corrugate paper under the strips and adhere to the layout with foam adhesives.  Mix Gloss Gel Medium and Mica Powder together and paint onto cardstock.  Allow to dry then cut and emboss large stars using a Spellbinders die. Leave in the die, and apply watermark ink, and heat emboss the raised areas using the Oakleaf Olive embossing powder.  Machine stitch the stars to form a streamer and add to the layout.  Glue Gala Glitz Glitter to the areas beneath the gem flourishes.  Cut a printed panel from the Majestic Morning Paper collection , distress the edges and add the photo. Stamp the Majestic Morning flowers using watermark ink and heat emboss with gold. Cut with the corresponding die and shape.  Stamp and cut greenery using the Open Leaf stamp and corresponding die.  Nestle the leaves behind the flower. Cut a tag from the patterned paper.  Add journaling if desired, and tuck under the photo. Add twine to the tag to make it easier to remove. Fussy cut the alarm clock from a second piece of the base paper.  Fill in the face using Crystal Lacquer and tap Mica powder around the edges.  Use Modeling Paste and an alphabet stencil on burlap paper to create the title.  After the paste is dry, cut out the letters, rub watermark ink over, and heat emboss with Hydrangea Blue Mauve Powder.

Gini, I just had to pop in and tell you how very much I love this layout. It is so full of life and energy. The photo itself is amazing, but then you add all your wonderful stitched, spritzed, stenciled, stamped, stacked and doodled elements and my jaw falls on the floor. Fabulous doesn't begin to describe it! I also love the fresh new look of your blog! xoxo
