Thank You Fall Leaf Card

This was a fun stamp to play around with my watercolors.  I inked the stamp with my Spectrum Aqua pens, and then stamped onto dampened watercolor paper.  I re-inked the stamp with Versamark and heat embossed with black powder.  I painted the background with Twinkling H2O's.

Bring on the Butterflies

 

The sun is shining, but it's cold, cold, cold! So I thought I would share a card that reminds us of warmer days! I stamped three Butterfly 5 images from Technique Junkies and fussy cut the images. I embossed the background.

 

Let it Snow

 

I'm back for another wintery card to celebrate the 30 Days of Christmas Cards!  This was a clean a simple card to make. I stamped the Winter Wonderland with the sky inked blue, and the trees inked green. I inked over the entire image with Versamark and heat embossed with a pearly powder.  I die cut the Let it Snow Sentiment and had a quick, but lovely card.

I used a pattern paper as my background, which made this card look rather mystical, but it was super easy.  I painted my road with Primary Elements from ColourArte - just a light wash, so the pattern beneath still showed through.

Merry Christmas Angel

 

Good morning! Over on the Technique Junkies Blog, we are celebrating 30 Days of Christmas Cards! And this is my first creation for the event. I love kraft and gold together, and thought that the Folk Art Angel would be great to use with this color scheme. I dry embossed the background and heat embossed the angel. The sentiment, Merry Christmas 2, was stamped on the kraft paper.  And what is Christmas without a big festive bow? 

There is Always Hope

 

I've got a fun, new stamp to share with you today, from Technique Junkies! I used the IncrediBall Canning Jar set and mixed it up with parts of the Vintage Daisy Collage.  I stamped the stems into the jar with green ink and then stamped and colored the flowers, and fussy cut them, and "arranged" them in the vase. the sentiment, Always Hope was stamped onto a die cut, and layered behind the jar.

Dance in the Rain

After all the rain we had the  past couple of weeks, I can't believe I'm sharing a card with any kind of rain in it! But it's always good to remember, it's not about waiting for the storm to pass, but learning to dance in the rain.

I stamped and heat embossed the main image, using the Cat in Rain stamp.  Then I used the Cardboard Texture image and blue ink for my rain.  The sentiment, Dance in the Rain, was the perfect finish.

Vintage Daisies

 

The designs on the Palettini Collection from Technique Junkies really lend themselves to coloring with watercolors.  For this Vintage Daisy Collage, I embossed the image first, to keep my lines bold.  Then I started painting with the Spectrum Aqua watercolor pens.  

Simple Passion Flower

I love the beauty of this Passion Flower stamp from Technique Junkies - and originally, I was going to color the image with my Spectrum Noir markers.  I stamped the image in Memento Ink (Bahama Blue) - but the image was so pretty just as it was. I was afraid I would loose some of the detail on this stamp if  I did anything else to it at all. I paired it up with an embossed wood grain panel, and it actually became a cool masculine card (even though it's got a flower and bow - lol! 

Where I Needed To Be

 

 I love this very vintage image of Alice, but wanted to create a card that gave an antique type feel.  My solution...? I stamped the image and colored it with Spectrum Noir markers, and then placed a vellum overlay with my sentiment over the top.  It almost gives a dream-like quality.

There is Always Hope

I really like the bold graphic of this Contemporary Floral stamp from Technique Junkies, and wanted to design a card that stayed true to the modern feel.  I stamped the image once with black Staz-on ink, then I spread colors of distress inks on my mat and spritzed with water, then used that to stamp over the base image.  The card was finished with the Always Hope stamp.  Both of these stamps were new releases for August.

Just Buzzing By

 

I have a thing for bees, so when I saw this Botanical Bee stamp from Technique Junkies, I had to have it.  To complete the scene, I added a honeycomb die cut background.

I Love You

I thought this card would be lovely to share with you tonight.  The colors remind me of late summer - early fall. I stamped the Berrie Panel stamp twice, and fussy cut the images to frame my sentiment, from the Grateful Flourish Sentiments set.

Sparkly Roses

I had so much fun coloring this Rose Urn Collage image.  I stamped and heat embossed the image and then painted in colors using Twinkling H2O's.  I left the urn itself unpainted to keep the sketch qualities of the stamp in the forefront.

Life Is a Song

I've got a card to share with you today that uses a couple of the new release stamps for July from Technique Junkies. I stamped the background using the Peonies background stamp. I colored the flowers with Pan Pastels, for a soft look.  The sentiment, Life is a Song, was stamped and then die cut.

May You Always Have A Shell In Your Pockets and Sand In Your Shoes

I've got a mixed media card to inspire you today - that uses bright, primary colors, perfect for the summer.

 I stamped the Wasted background stamp from Technique Junkies on the patterned paper with Versamark ink, and heat embossed it with clear powder to form a resist.  Then I started adding Twinkling H2O's watercolors and Silks Acrylic glazes over the image.

 The shells were stamped and colored and then cut to create the embellishments and the sentiment was stamped to the base paper.

Stand Tall

 I love the bold graphic element of this Stand Tall stamp and thought it would be lovely paired with a distress ink background.  I used a variation of the Stained Resist Tutorial off of the Artistic Effects CD to create the background.

Night City

After watching the fireworks tonight, I saw this Night City Stamp in my box of goodies, and thought it reminded me of the fireworks from tonight's festivities.  It was a quick and easy card, but a perfect way to end a lovely day.
