Words or Whatever - WOW March Release!

Today marks the new release at Words or Whatever - WOW Chipboard. I have a layout to share with you that uses some of my favorite chippies - but I have to admit - these aren't from the new release.  My package with the new  goodies will arrive later, but I didn't want to miss out on the fun, so I just created a layout with some of the pieces already in my stash.

Doesn't this Bamboo Tree look amazing with the Graphic 45 Bird Song Paper?  It was like they were made for each other!  I colored the tree with Smooch Inks - such an easy way to add color and sparkle.

The title, Sisters & Friends, was colored in the same way.

This photo just shows a little of the depth on this layout.  I've been making my own foam adhesives using craft foam, and running it through my Xyron Creatopia with permanent adhesive.  It is such an easy and inexpensive way to build up those layers.

Please do have a look at the Words or Whatever - Wow blog, so you can actually see the new release! There are so many fun designs this time and the rest of the design team has done a marvelous job! While you are there check out the past  design team inspiration.  Every week, one of the designers floods the blog with amazing projects, fantastic tutorials and so much chippie goodness, you really don't want to miss it.  And remember, we also have a monthly challenge.  This time, it's super-duper easy - Just make a layout and use a little Wow on it.  You have until March 15th to link up.  We hope you will play along with us.

October New Release at Cheery Lynn Designs!

It's our new release day at Cheery Lynn Designs and I know you are going to be thrilled with the new dies we have to show you today.  Be sure to visit the inspiration blog today and see the great creations the rest of the design team came up with.

I've got a 10 x 10 canvas to share with you today.  I think my favorite die set for this release is the Delicate Lace Script.  This one set has upper and lower case as well as numbers and punctuaction. This is the perfect size to add words to your projects - and look how awesome it looks adding the Forever die.

I've experimented a little bit with quilling in the past, so the new Expandable Quilling Strip die is going to have me adding rolled paper to my projects.  But that's not the only use for this die - it cuts such thin strips of paper, that have slight embossed lines (making it easy to shape the paper), that I was able to tie a bow for the top of the birdcage, using one of the strips.

The flower was made using the Build A Flower 2, and Embellishment 2.  Leaves and greenery were created with dies from the new release.

So, I hope you are inspired by what we have to show you today - and I'll look forward to seeing what Cheery Lynn fans come up with using the new dies!

Belles n Whistles New Challenge!

It's been two weeks, so it is time for a new challenge at Belles n Whistles. This week the talented Anki is challenging us to use her sketch along with bold winter colors (to me this meant no pastels). I had some really fun Christmas papers from Graphic 45, and I loved the way Rockin Around Belle looked in front of the Christmas tree - Just like this is her favorite present from Santa!

We would love for you to play along with us for your chance to win a new BnW stamp. Also, be sure to mark your calendars - starting Dec. 1st we will be celebrating our 2nd Annual Advent Blog Event - You will not want to miss it!

Paper and Ribbon Flower

Good morning! I recently saw a tutorial for making pleated paper flowers, and I thought, wow, wouldn't it be gorgeous to add some ribbon to the edge of the paper and combine the two? So, I tried it out and came up with this beauty. I added Old Gold satin edged ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I love the texture this added! The button in the center is an antique needle woven button from my stash. I thought it was just perfect with my Graphic 45 Papers.
